read pins

please read pinned messages before asking

Imagine asking a question in support, while the answer is already sitting right above you in the pinned messages.

the pinned message in #support

Pinned messages exist so staff do not have to repeat the same answer all day.

If a server has pins, rules, FAQs, announcements, or a support guide, check those first. Asking before reading creates extra back-and-forth and slows everyone down.

The same goes for:

  • “how do I verify?”
  • “where are the rules?”
  • “what are the requirements?”
  • asking before checking pinned messages
  • skipping the FAQ and then pinging staff

Read the pinned message, FAQ, or announcement first. Then ask with context.

Instead, try this

Hi, I read the pinned message and FAQ, but I’m still stuck.

What I checked: the pinned guide in #support and the latest announcement.

What happened: step 3 does not match what I see on my screen.

What I need: which option should I choose? Screenshot attached.

Thanks for checking first. Here is what changed.

Pinned messages are there to save everyone time. Read them first, then ask in the right place if something is still unclear.

A useful question after reading pins usually includes:

  • what pinned message or FAQ you checked
  • what part you do not understand
  • what you already tried
  • screenshots, message links, IDs, or exact steps if useful

Then wait patiently. Reposting, bumping, or asking the same pinned question again usually makes it slower, not faster.

When done right, staff can help with real issues instead of repeating pinned answers.
